Welcome to the showroom at Cabane Blanche. The idea for the showroom came up when we started the renovation of an old town house in Nyon in 2013. With help from the architects at Mangeat et Wahlen in Nyon, the space became a beautiful little hidden treasure with a small terrace and a beautiful loft in treated concrete. After many requests from visitors to the showroom, we decided to use this unique space, not only as showroom for Cabane Blanche, but as a space to rent for artists, entrepreneurs and small businesses, who wants to make an event or exhibition in the old town of Nyon. In November 2017, we did the first event with the artist Wiebke Meurer. Since 2001 Wiebke Meurer is living and working as an artist in Switzerland. She has been exposing silver objects in contemporary art galleries for more than 10 years. In 2013 she created the jewellery line JEWELS IN MOTION. Her aime was to create jewellery to wear everyday.
In the heart of Valais, we found this pearl of a historic hotel called Bella Tola, located in a small village called St-Luc in the region Val d'Anniviers. This wonderful hotel, which was built in 1859, is worth visiting for its spectacular location alone, which overlooks the whole valley. Anne-Françoise and Claude Buchs became the owners in 1996, following on from four generations of the winemaking Pont family. The Buchs put their heart and soul into making your stay an unforgettable experience. They have maintained the spirit of the original property whilst creating a stylish interior with a mix of tradition and chic.. The spa area is fantastic with a breath taking view from the terrace to the mountains. Unspoilt nature, authentic villages like Grimentz, Zinal, St-Luc and Vercorin and unique panoramas stretching across the alps including the Matterhorn, Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, the Dent Blanche and even as far as the Mont Blanc. This hotel is an experience not to be missed..
A historic house turned into a beautiful boutique hotel with art close to the heart.. The building that houses the Caffè dell'Arte dates back to the 15th century and is one of the historic structures in the ancient section of Locarno. The Caffè dell'Arte was founded in 2003, on the ashes of an old tavern, combining style and elegance with the fascination of art, contributing to the rebirth of Locarno's historic center. The Bed and Breakfast Caffè dell'Arte was opened in 2007. The Bed and Breakfast started on the first floor with only two rooms and then grew to three and finally arrived at nine different rooms, all different from one another with unique names and designs. The terrace is very cosy and in the reception area there is a nice little concept store with art and fashion. Dont miss out on the many cute shops in the area.. We were told not to go and eat in the restaurants by the lake, but instead explore the small hidden restaurants in the back and what a hidden treasure they were. Delicious meals prepared with passion and love... ask the manager for all the secret places to go...

We are happy to announce that we have a very special collection of scented candles and diffusers from “Skandinavisk” in the showroom this week. This wonderful brand is created around the scandinavian lifestyle with a danish word “Hygge”, that has now become a worldwide concept. “Hygge” is the magic of turning any situation into a moment of cosiness, especially those shared with friends and family. Escaping to nature is something Scandinavians embrace enthusiastically and which is shared with the people living in Switzerland. All the candles are reflecting this idea of living a life in nature with names such as SKOG (forest), HAV (sea), SNO (snow), ö (island) and of course… Hygge (cosiness) The showroom is open Wednesday to Friday from 10 am to 17 pm. Cabane Blanche Rue Saint Jean 24 (entrance rue de la colombière) 1260 Nyon
In August we ran a competition on facebook where the prize was two lovely cushions from Andi Art. The cushions are hand made from Alpaga wool in South America. On this picture you see the the winner Anne-France Conus-Klages with her cushions. Anne-France came to our showroom in Nyon and it was a pleasure to meet her. She is an interior designer herself and we thought the cushions suited her very well.. Follow our facebook page and be informed next time we do a competition… www.facebook.com/cabaneblanchedesign
